Q: Does home for hire chase payments for me?
A: Our system operates automatically. Emails reminders are sent and cc’d to you. If the balance is not paid on time it is automatically cancelled and your property will show available again on our site. Any money held by us that is non refundable will be forwarded to you less our commission.
Q: Do you charge commission on any days that I book out for myself or my own bookings?
A: No there is no commission in this case.
Q: How can I adjust the price after a booking request has been made eg. add extras or offer a discount?
A: Go to the booking in the backend and click on 'edit booking' and make your changes there.
Q: How secure is payment through this website?
A: Payment through the homeforhire system is very secure. All of our SSL certificates support both industry-standard 128-bit and high-grade 256-bit encryption.
Q: If a guest pays in a different currency than the one that I have listed in what currency will I be paid in?
A: You will always be paid in the currency you list in.
Q: When do I get paid?
A: We pay you directly to your bank account seven days after the guest has left. If this falls on a weekend we pay you on the Monday following.
Q: How does homeforhire know where to pay me.
A: Once you have a booking you need to log in and enter your bank account details into 'My details'
Q: What happens if I accept a booking with homeforhire and then a booking is confirmed from elsewhere?
A: At any time after you accept a booking request and prior to a deposit being made confirming the booking you are able to cancel that acceptance for any reason .
Q: What happens if I have to cancel a booking after it has been confirmed by a deposit?
A: If an owner cancels a booking after it has been confirmed all money collected is forwarded back to the guest and homeforhire invoices the owner for the commission payable on that booking plus $150 admin fee.
Q: What happens if the guest does not pay a deposit and confirm the booking after it has been accepted by an owner?
A: In the setup of your property you are asked .. How many days after acceptance should the booking lapse if not confirmed. After whatever period you set the booking lapses and cannot be confirmed by the guest unless you the owner restore the booking. Alternatively the renter can put in another booking request.
