Q: Who is the guest booking with?
A: The guest is booking with you the owner. Homeforhire is not acting as an agent. We provide an online system that enables you the owner to manage and market your property.
Q: How do I list my property and what are the benefits?
A: Homeforhire.com is an online system that enables you to list your short term rental property or properties, all for free. You may upload up to 16 photos and video as well. This will give you an easy to use availability calendar so that you can manage and inform others of when your place is available. Once your site is checked by us it will be automatically included in our online advertising system. For any bookings that come through our system we will collect the money and distribute it to you less our commision. This is the only time we will charge you. There are no set up fees.
Q: What are homeforehire.com’s commision rates.
A: Standard listing 12% Featured listing 15% This includes any taxes payable (gst, vat etc) Home for hire will pay all credit card costs.
Q: What is a featured listing?
A: Home for hire has what we call regional portals. Every time a potential guest clicks on one of our ad’s or links on google or elsewhere they will land on one of these. eg http://www.homeforhire.com/homes/queenstown.aspx Featured properties are shown above standard listings. The position within the listing group cycles. Each time a regional portal opens a new featured property has a turn at the top. Also when the guest has made a search the featured listings will still show at the top of resulting listings.
Q: Will I still be seen if I only have a standard listing?
A: Yes. When a customer makes a search all the properties that fit their requirements will be shown.
Q: Are there any set up charges?
A:  No there are no set up charges or fees. We only charge a fee if we get you a booking through the system and our marketing efforts

Q: Does home for hire provide cleaning, key collection or property management services.
A: No we do not. We may be able to reccomend someone in your area however. Please contact us with this requirement.
Q: How do I send homeforhire an email?
A: Please click on the contact tab.
Q: Is it free to list with homeforhire?
A: Yes there are no set up fees. We only charge if we get a booking for you.
Q: How do I add general terms and conditions?
A: The terms and conditions between you and the guest are automatically created as you set up your website. If there are some specific conditions that the system does not cater for please contact us by email.
Q: How do I update the prices/availabilty on my site?
A: Please login as an owner. Select the property you wish to update. Either click on the rates/pricing tab or the availablity tab to make a change.
Q: Can I list my property for only a portion of the year?
A: Yes. When you set up the property and any time afterwards please block out on the availability calendar the dates that you do not want to be available.
Q: What should I charge for my property?
A: You are the best judge of that. Our system allows you to charge a differnt rate for every day. Keeping it simple though will make it easier for the guest. We suggest a lower rate for the off season.
Q: What do I do if I want to charge a different rate than shown in the booking request?
A: Go to the booking in the backend. Click on edit booking and enter the rate that you want to charge. Follow the prompts and accept the booking. This will send an email to the renter.
Q: What do I do if I want to add some extra charges to a booking request? `
A: Go to the booking in the backend and click on edit booking. Click through until you get to the extras page. Add your extras and follow the prompts to where you accept the booking. Accepting will send an email to the renter.
Q: Does homeforhire offer discounts to owners/property managers with a number of homes.
A: Yes. We have a sliding scale dependent on the number of homes you list. It is..... 1-4 homes 12% 5-10 homes 11% 11-20 homes 10% 21-33 homes 9% 34-50 homes 8% 50+ homes 7%
