Mount Edward winery is situated in the Gibbston sub region of Central Otago, some 25km east of Queenstown.
Founded in 1997 by the godfather of Central Otago Pinot Noir, Alan Brady, the winery grows limited quantities of premium pinot noir, single vineyard designates, and small batch classic white varieties.
This dramatically beautiful region, set amongst the mountains and lakes of the southern alps, is acknowledged as one of the emerging stars of the wine growing world. Its glacial soils grow wines under a unique continental climate of cool nights and warm days producing wines of distinction and finesse.
The first Mount Edward vineyard, “The Drumlin”, is situated on the steep hillside slope next to the winery and is testament to both hard work and vision, the 30 deg slope a reminder that nothing great can come easily.
All estate vineyards, including two in the sub regions of Lowburn and Bannockburn, are managed using Bio-Gro certified organic practices and reflect a traditional and natural winegrowing ethos that we believe is critical for the very best wines.
Mount Edward’s wines are enjoyed worldwide, from Buckingham Palace in London, to The French Laundry in the Napa Valley, and to your cellars.
We are a small team of people dedicated to growing wines of the highest order.
Welcome to Central Otago, welcome to Mount Edward.
