The photos of this property do not do this place justice. It's a beautiful spot with lovely clean grounds & the unit itself seems more spacious than what the photos portray - perfect for a couple. The outdoors set up is great to relax both on the deck or under the additional covered area closer to the beach. The breeze is delightful & we enjoyed a few morning breakfasts and lazy days hanging out under here. The beach is a nice swimming spot, and yes enjoyed at high tide, however anytime is good to simply cool off for a quick dip. We had no issues with the unit during our stay, yet the owner communicated with us frequently to ensure we were ok. The extra small inclusions in this property also made a difference from mosquito coils, fly spray, laundry powder, dishwashing liquid etc making it easier on arrival to not worry about these sorts of things, and only purchasing as required. There is also a 24hr gas station within walking distance for your convenience.
One thing to be aware of is the property is close to the main road leading into town and near the airport so you will frequent noise of airplanes & traffic in the evenings. You will get used to the noise, but if you're a light sleeper then that's something to consider.
This property is 'private' but you may experience locals accessing the beach through the property. But don't worry, these locals are family of the home owner and they will introduce themselves and allow for your privacy. A great way to meet locals though and if you have not been to Rarotonga before, then you will come to know that beach access anywhere on the island is used by locals who also respect the visitors renting properties.
Also ask in advance for information about rubbish days & how the property wants these sorted, and about the checkout process.
Other than that, a fantastic 2 week holiday spent in Turama Beach House. Would definitely recommend to others!

Turama Beach Cottage was perfect for us in location, privacy, amenities and flexibility. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Turama and would definitely hire this cottage again. Penina and Paloma were fantastic with support and availability. We actually missed the cottage when we left. Highly recommended for a simple, fuss free and private stay.

Turama Beach Bungalow is a romantic gem.
Absolute waterfront location, situated on the western beach of Rarotonga, Turama Beach Bungalow will not disappoint.
Set amongst a landscaped garden with the pristine turquoise lagoon virtually lapping at your feet, it is private and secluded, perfect for a romantic honeymoon.
Enjoy a swim in the lagoon – best at high tide, or take an exploratory walk to the reefs edge at low tide with the locals; you’ll feel you’ve slipped into island time.
Reef shoes recommended. Bring your own snorkeling mask- the lagoon teams with tropical fish, and some of the cheekier ones will nudge you for a feed.
The stand-alone bungalow is an open plan studio. Sleeping 2 with room for one more ( Extra Adult NZD50, Child NZD20), it is less than a 4 minute drive from town, the airport about 1 minute and with buses stopping virtually at your door, you’ll not have to plan too far ahead.
A convenience store, pharmacy, DVD rental and beauty spa are all within a stone’s throw of the property.
Enjoy alfresco dinning on the balcony deck, or plan a romantic dinner right on the beach at the water’s edge, and watch the setting sun.
The site is perfect for a beach wedding. A thatched outdoor entertainment hut is equipped with bbq tables, trestle foldaway tables and chairs.
To the rear of this is an outdoor shower and small bathroom. There is ample parking on-site.
Invite your friends over for a beach, candlelit dinner at the edge of the lagoon, and watch the local fisherman bob about in their small boats out over the reef.
