Due to the proximity to Rotorua The Lakehouse is ideal for couples, families and as a corporate executive retreat or for the touring overseas guests.

There are many vantage points on the ¾ acre property to sit back and soak up the quiet natural atmosphere. The beach is sheltered and safe for swimming or for parking your boat. The bush clad hills flow to the waters edge where you can paddle in the kayaks while listening to the cicadas, and watch the native tuis and wood pigeons romancing above.
Enjoy our 2 kayaks, or a spot of fishing for rainbow trout. You may wish to cast a line off the beach or waterfront. Others might like to take up the challenge of a friendly game of tennis.

The house is a substantial native weatherboard home with comfort, taste and atmosphere.
The two living areas all have character of their own. There are both formal and informal dining areas supported by a fully equipped kitchen. They all flow onto a sunny veranda with uninterrupted views across the garden and lawn to the beach and lake.
The master bedroom enjoys a queen-sized bed and the room is well suited to the antique walnut dressing table.
The double bedroom is also large with the most magnificent views ever, across the lawn to the lake.
The twin bedroom has two single beds and there is a set of bunks in the bunkroom.
All this allows The Lakehouse to be ideal for couples, families and as a corporate executive retreat or for the touring overseas guests.

Fishing for Rainbow trout You can literally fly fish from the edge of the property or troll from a boat in the all year round season. A professional fishing guide is available by arrangement.
Explore the lake by kayak. See the glowworm caves by night, quietly approach native water bird life, or just paddle about.
Water ski from the 2 ski lanes (Nearby launching ramp and petrol) (Jet skis are not encouraged on this lake).
Sail your yacht or windsurf across the glistening waves.
Private beach provides safe swimming. The sheltered nature of the lake provides generally calm conditions.
Trampoline- Great for the kids
Tennis- Enjoy your own private court.
Entertain friends Play a game of petenque on the lawn.
Picnic on the lake edge lawn with a bottle of wine, cheese and crackers while you watch the kids play in the sun warmed water.
Bush walking, or stroll on the farm around the lake edge on a nearby walkway track.

Location
Directions from Rotorua City - Ten minutes travel by car. Distance is 12km
Travel east out of Rotorua from Fenton Street onto Te Ngae Road.
Turn right at the first round-a-bout onto Tarawera Road. This will take you into the country travelling toward Lakes Okareka and Tarawera, Blue and Green Lakes and the Buried Village.
At the Blue Lake Motor Camp turn left into Okareka Loop Road.
Turn right into Acacia Road.
Drive to the end of Acacia Road to the cul-de-sac, where you will find on the right Number 95, on the black gate post. You have reached The Lakehouse on Okareka.
