About the House
Skahard House is a 200-year-old Georgian farmhouse renovated to reflect a way of life in Ireland of old. It is set in the quiet, pastoral backdrop of Limerick, which is an ancient city originally founded by the Vikings. Geographically, the hotel is perfectly positioned to experience an impressive amount of Ireland's sites and activities in day trips.
The house and grounds are located on our privately owned farm, with lush rolling fields, wild life sanctuary and prehistoric remains of a genuine 2,500 year old ring fort on Skahard hill, with panoramic views of the surrounding countryside.
Holiday leisure is spent relaxing in our outdoor hot tub, playng croquet, reading in the conservatory or walking undisturbed on our lands.
All mod. cons. are provided for including flat screen TV (lounge and bedrooms), internet, piped music, library of Irish books and music, and office with PC, fax, printer, photocopier and scanner.

The Master Bedroom
The Master Bedroom is upstairs and has a zip-linked double bed (two single bed option), widescreen television, DVD player with surround sound, and a commanding view of the enveloping countryside. It is accompanied by a large en suite bathroom with a power shower, which also has its own fireplace, shower and an old style slipper bath.

The Second Bedroom
The Second Bedroom is also upstairs and has a zip-linked double bed, widescreen television, DVD player with surround sound and an en-suite bathroom with a wet room and power shower.

The Third Bedroom is downstairs and also has a zip-linked double bed, widescreen television, DVD player with surround sound and an en-suite bathroom with a wet room and power shower.

Skahard Country Villa Accommodations
The Drawing Room is at the heart of the main house and boasts an antiquated fireplace and large widescreen TV. with surround sound. The Dining Room has a traditional open hearth fireplace equipped with an original bellows for keeping the turf fire alive during long winter nights. » All television systems are suitable for viewing a wide range of TV channels and also comprise Radio, DVD and CD functions. The Conservatory makes daytime relaxation a pleasure with its southerly aspect and panorama of rolling fields. The Kitchen, Office and Utilities have ultra modern appliances while retaining the old world charm. A comfortable bay window seating area once again gives view to the farm and fields.

Coming from Galway or Shannon/Co. Clare
Follow the N18 road straight into Limerick City centre. Cross the Shannon river and keep going straight. On leaving the city (after 2km) go straight through the Ballysimon Roundabout on the N24. After 12.6km turn right for Caherconlish and Mitchelstown. After 2.7Km turn right at the crossroads in Caherconlish village (at Lynch’s Pub). Take the next turn right at the Y junction at the top of the village. After approximately 2km Skahard House is on the left hand side, visible from the road.
Coming from Dublin
Approaching Limerick on the N7 take the ramp for Tipperary and Waterford. After approximately 2km take the ramp for Tipperary and Waterford again. Drive 6.3km on the N24 and take the right turn for Caherconlish and Mitchelstown. After 2.7km turn right at the crossroads in Caherconlish village (at Lynch’s Pub). Take the next turn right at the Y junction at the top of the village. After approximately 2km Skahard House is on the left hand side, visible from the road.
Coming from Kerry
Approaching Limerick on the N21/N20, take the ramp for Tipperary and Waterford. After approximately 6km take the ramp for Tipperary and Waterford again. Coming from Fermoy and Mitchelstown
At the North side of Mithchelstown take the roundabout exit, signposted for Caherconlish, on to the R513. Stay on the R513, for the next 40km, through Ballylanders, Knocklong and Hospital to Caherconlish. At the crossroads in Caherconlish Village (Lynch’s Pub is on the right) turn left up the hill. Drive 300m to the top of the village and take a right at the Y junction. After approximately 2km Skahard House is on the left hand side, visible from the road.
