Descriptions
Umbria, a true and real island of countryside, jealously hides among its green hills antique dwellings. Here along the Roman Flaminia road, in the borough of Narni, the Podere Costa Romana comes into view as by surprise, in the middle of an unspoilt Mediterranean hideaway, offering with its remarkable remoteness a comforting silence. To pause in one of the many corners of the garden, to go for a walk, to go by bicycle or on horseback in the green surroundings, allows you the pleasure to stop and look around, enchanted by the remarkable beauty of the area.
The Parthenopean mind of Anna Maria has transformed the old nineteenth-century Costa Romana dwelling, into a warm and welcoming place where she herself receives you in her sitting room in order to talk, give information, help and even taste a glass of good wine together. The building in local stone, brought back and restored to its original character, apart from a spacious reception room and large and well equipped kitchen, suitable for feasts, has in it six flats each with the same comforts, but each different, in which the good taste and imagination of the owner have successfully brought together tradition with the use of materials such as terracotta and wood.
Antique fittings, curtains from the old San Leucio looms, objects of local handicraft, all chosen and put together with care, love and attention, together with breakfast on offer in the flat with home-made cakes and marmalades, will welcome any guest, who is still here really considered "sacred".
