Q: Where are you located? How far to the downtown?
A: Orchid Hill is located at the southern end of Port Douglas. Sea Temple resort and Golf Course, Bale' Resort, The Rain Forest Habitat Zoo and IGA shopping centre are all our neighbours. Set within a very quiet residential area, we are only a 3 minute drive to Macrossan Street where you'll find all of Port's award winning restaurants, bars and shopping. This is also where you'll find the life guarded swimming area. That is if you want to leave your secluded and very private pool.

Q: Do you have Baby beds?
A: Yes, we can organise baby cots if needed. There is generally not an extra charge, unless multiple cots are needed.

This property is stunning! We absolutely loved our time there and certainly felt relaxed and refreshed in style! It was perfectly cleaned when we arrived and looked just as it did in the pictures. The pool and outdoor area in particular were a favorite and we loved how cool and breezy the lounge room was. There were a few little glitches for us with some of the air conditioning and the exhaust over the oven, which would have been nice if they could have been fixed but these certainly didn't spoil our stay. The kitchen was lovely and open with alot of crockery and cutlery etc if you were looking to have a nice dinner party, however I will say the cooking utencils were perhaps in need of updating - a few good knives and some pantry basics would go a long way. Also it would be a great touch to have some fresh milk available on arrival for a cup of tea or coffee. But these are minor, niggly, things and we truly did enjoy our stay. Orchid Hill is a stunning property located close to town but in a lovely quiet spot, its comfortable and relaxing so you can easily just stay in or use it as a base to get out and explore!

We were amazed how simple and easy to rent this house was. It was fabulous. The house is beautifully decorated with loads of nicknaks everywhere. Very tropical and very Port Douglas. A dream to stay in this beautiful home. We have stayed in a lot of holiday homes and this one had the best cook wear I have ever seen in a holiday home. Very high quality. If I was going to be picky I would say the only thing missing was an extra TV. Our stay was brilliant.

This is the house used in the final episode of the UK Masterchef series. UK contestants ventured to Port Douglas to cook a wedding banquet for a real wedding. The bride's family stayed at Orchid Hill and the scenes of her getting ready and heading off to the church were filmed at Orchid Hill and featured in the final episodes of the contest. The bride and groom have since been back for a more relaxed stay at Orchid Hill.

We have worked hard creating a resort style holiday rental with personality, warmth and comfort. We often find most holiday homes lack these things. Bland comes to mind.
The attention to detail put into the home is evident in the many photos available (taken April 2013 or Dec 2012). No surprises when you arrive. We want Orchid Hill to match your expectations with space adults and kids would like to retreat too after shopping, the beach or a trip on the reef. Or relax and never leave the house and pool. It is your time and Orchid Hill is your place to enjoy however best you do it.
