21ST TO 28TH NOVEMBER 2014 As usual there will plenty happening off the water with cultural activities to entertain first time visitors as well as those who have returned time a Vaka Eika 2014

From small beginnings in 2004 for the inaugural Vaka Eiva and after the hugely successful Tenth Event in 2013, The Cook Islands Canoeing Association is delighted to welcome you all to Vaka Eiva 2014. Due to popular demand, we will once again keep the original format with the whole week building up to the main events on Thursday and Friday for the Round Raro Relay Races. The OC1/V1 Irons will kick off the weeks racing on Saturday 22nd followed by the V6 Avana Iron Challenge on Monday 24th. Once again, the U14s and U16's will have their very own regatta within a regatta with Tuesday 25th November dedicated to our paddlers of the future.They will compete in V6 sprints and longer lagoon races as well as teams top singles paddlers competing in V1 sprints. The U19's will join them for the sprints. Then it's the adults turn to have some fun during our 'just under 500m sprints' (due to a rougue coral head at around 470m!!!) at stunning Muri Lagoon together with some fun and games including the world famous ‘pop the ama’ competition. The Bob Worthington Memorial Trophy Mixed Round Raro will set the stage for the main events on Thursday 27th November - with the Women’s Round Raro ‘Pacific Paddle’ relay race and the Men’s Round Raro ‘Pacific Cup’ relay race on Friday 28th November 2014.
