Our romantic cottage accommodation is nestled in 15 acres of tranquil rainforest just 40km from Brisbane - close to the city, yet a world away. From the moment you enter your private rainforest cottage you will feel yourself relax. Awake to the sound of whip birds, relax on the veranda, visit a local cafe or take a leisurely walk in the National Park. In winter, as mists waft through the rainforest, warm yourself by the fireplace, with a glass of wine, a good book, and of course our complimentary port and chocolates. Our two cottages have a delightful rustic charm, cosy fireplaces, serene rainforest views, plus all modern conveniences.

Mount Glorious
Mount Glorious is just 35km north-west of Brisbane, and is surrounded by D'Aguilar National Park (formerly Brisbane Forest Park and Maiala Park). It incorporates both rainforest and wet gum forest. It is a prime area for bird watching, with over 80 varieties of birds seen on the mountain. Bushwalks range from short walks to full day hikes. Situated 620m above sea level, Mt Glorious offers welcome relief from the summer heat. Winters can get quite cold, a good time to stay cosy by the fire.

What to do
There are a number of walking tracks through both temperate rainforest and sclerophyll forest. The village of Mount Glorious has a restaurant and three cafes (limited opening hours) and a sculpture garden open Sundays. It is a great place for bird watching, with over 80 varieties of native birds seen in the area. There are two wineries within the hinterland area. Scenic drives take you to Wivenhoe Dam, Lake Somerset, Dayboro, Mt Mee.
