Waterside Waikawa is a great location for visiting the Nature and wild life of the Catlins eg pengins,dolphins ,sealions and the 16o million yr old fossil forest at Curio bay.Waipohatu a 3 hour circuit track is a must do for the serious walker. Mclean falls and Cathderal Caves 30mindrive.Finish the day with great food and wine at our local Niagara Falls cafe

Attractions

This area of the Catlins is home to the rare and endangerd species of the yellow eyed penguin which may be seen on the fossil forest at Cuiro bay in the late afternoon. The Hookers sealions are often on the sandy beach and dolphins riding the waves are seen from nov until april.
Waipohatu is circuit walking track of about 3 hours through pristine NZ native bush with the odd mahua and the Tuis and Bell birds in unison. Mclean falls and Cathedral caves are 30 min drive

Activities

Just ask me for a guided tour of the pengiuns and local knowledge of Curio bay or farm tour of our family farm with sheep , cattle , deeer and milking cows

Niagara Falls cafe is agrea t place to eat with good food and wine just 5 min drive from Waterside Waikawa
