Stunningly appointed home with lake and mountain views consisting of 4 bedrooms over 2 levels. Downstairs is a formal entry with 2 bedrooms, a bathroom with shower and double spa bath, separate toilet, laundry, and double remote control garage. The upstairs master bedroom has ensuite, and balcony with own table & chairs. Also upstairs is an extremely well equipped kitchen, with double-draw dishwasher, microwave, electric oven and gas cooktop, all in stainless steel. Open plan dining consisting of lovely timber table & 8 chairs. This area also opens out to a great deck with BBQ and outdoor furniture. Adjacent is a comfortable living room with a real flame gas fire, LCD TV, SKY TV, and DVD and great views to the mountains and lake. Electric blankets to all beds.
High quality furnishing and finishes above that normally expected in a holiday home, still only 2 years old. Upstairs living areas enhancing great views of lake and looking up to Treble Cone. Sleeps 11 comfortably (we holiday each winter with 6 adults and 5 children). Sky TV includes sports package. Second TV + DVD in Downstairs Bedroom.
Located close to the centre of Wanaka township, this is a lovely family home and is sure to please any holiday guest. Ideal for 2 families, or equally suitable for a group of Singles. Stay once and you will want to come back again!

It would be great if a drying room was included during the ski season. Perhaps the store room in the garage could be converted to a drying room. It would also be great to have hot tub but that is probably a luxury. The tap in the downstairs bathroom needs maintenance. Rating: 4.3

(3) Property Manager in Wanaka not informed of issues with downstairs tap - if they were it would have been fixed straight away. (4) 4/5 for Property location as located on website - exactly where it says it is on Google maps on the website. (5) 4/5 for key pickup - could it be any easier than being right next to the front door when you arrive?
Whilst we are very keen on feedback, and do actually take it seriously, it should at least be relevant.

Wanaka Quality Residence - Reviewed by Sue from Australia in January 2012. The only thing we found fault with was the gas bottle for the BBQ was empty. Otherwise our stay was excellent and we look forward to using Home For Hire again and renting to this house in the future.

Overall Impression
This holiday home has been set up after learning from experience of hiring holiday homes in both Wanaka and Queenstown. We have learnt from our prior experiences of uncomfortable beds, rickety furniture, and poor facilities. The result, we think, is a house that we are sure will have you happy to return to it when you next choose to holiday in Wanaka.

Upstairs Living
The upstairs living room is open plan design with kitchen and dining room. Here there is an 50" Plasma TV with Phillips Ambisound DVD system, with leather lounges, 2 separate recliner chairs with footstools, and 2 beanbags when you need more! All adjacent to the real flame gas fire. There is also an Ipod dock attached to the sound system.

Kitchen
A quality kitchen with all of the quality appliances you could ever need. Apart from the basics, there is an espresso machine, a blender (for mixing of cocktails!) and double drawer dishwasher. The island bench is nicely finished with granite top, and a small breakfast bar with seating for 3.

Upstairs Main
The large main bedroom upstairs has a comfortable ensemble queen bed with views to the lake and Treble Cone Ski field. Sleep with the curtains open and wake up to the brilliant view. Wall mounted 32" LCD TV and DVD player in room, with ensuite bathroom (with underfloor heating) and plenty of wardrobe space.

Downstairs Main
The main bedroom downstairs also has a comfortable ensemble queen bed with views to Treble Cone ski field. It is adjacent to the main bathroom (with underfloor heating), which has both shower and spa bath. The bedroom also has a TV and DVD player.

Upstairs Bunkroom
The second upstairs bedroom has a bunk bed with double below and single on top.

Downstairs Bunkroom
The second downstairs bedroom has 4 single bunks. There is a small wall mounted LCD TV with DVD player/Old Xbox with some games for kids.

Eating Out
Ardmore and Dunmore Streets have numerous cafes and restaurants. We would recommend Tango's Cafe for a light lunch, and Relishes Cafe for lunch or dinner. Try Sassonoki's for great Japanese takeaway, and Sagun Cafe has the best curry-in-a-hurry going around.

Grocery Shopping
There is a New World Supermarket in town that covers all of the main staple items, but if you want some good quality groceries and meat, try the Mediterranean Delicatessen and Wanaka Butcher opposite each other on Reece Crescent.
