An enchanting strawbale house with lake and mountain views in central Wanaka. This is an outdoor living dream. The 2nd level has a fully equipped yoga space. There are two mountain bikes and helmets for your enjoyment. And on rainy days there is a large library of dvds, board games and puzzles. The house is a world of it's own and ideally situated for you to make the most of your holiday.

An eco-friendly strawabale villa with lake and mountain views in central Wanaka

This enchanting strawbale villa is full of pleasant surprises and wonderful character. Only 5min walk to the lake and 10 min walk to town. Beautiful stone paved outdoor spa area. Barbeque and private outdoor dining courtyard flowing from the house make this an outdoor living dream. There are 5 bedrooms spread over 3 levels, each level having it's own lounging area. The 2nd level has a large open space for yoga, with a large mirror. There is yoga equipment provided for your use. Mats, bolsters, belts, blocks and eyebags. This space has been used as a yoga studio for teaching 8 - 10 people. There are two mountain bikes and helmets for enjoying the many stunning tracks at your back door. And on rainy days there is a large library of dvds, board games and puzzles. There is also a trampoline for the kids. Feel free to eat from the prolific vegetable garden. The kitchen is well equipped with quality cookware, and many appliances, including a juicer, blender, grills, popcorn maker, waffle maker and more. There is a logburner to heat lounge, dining and kitchen. Gas and electric heaters heat the rest of the house. There is underfloor heating in the bathroom. The downstairs bathroom has a fabulously deep bath. All beds have electric blankets and feather duvets, with plenty of extra bedding available. This house makes a wonderful base from which to enjoy your holiday as everything is within easy walking, or retreat yourself at the house as it is a world of it's own.

Local Activities

The golf course is 2min walk from the house. Basecamp rockclimbing centre and the Lonestar restaurant are 5min walk. There are many fantastic mountain bike tracks to ride to from the house. Skifields 35min drive We can help you with any activities you may wish to experience

Dining Out

For breakfasts or lunch it's hard to beat Gustos or Ritual. Both owner/operated cafes with the best coffee in town. For the best Indian food The Spice Room is world class. Sasanoki does fantastic takeaway Japanese food. Yohei does wonderful juices and smoothies, very healthy.

Food and Supplies

There's a New World supermarket downtown for supplies and fish. For fresh food and meat the Mediteranean Market is a better option with it's own delicatessen and resident German butcher. Opposite is the local butchers who has a bigger range and is also very good. Both located on Reece Cres off Plantation rd. The local farmers market is held on Thurs 4.30pm on Pembroke Park by the carpark.
