Environment and facilities
The Paris Suite is built and maintained using eco-friendly principles. We value our natural environment (emerging wetlands, flax, birdlife and native trees). We have an organic hobby orchard – grab a lemon for your G&T on the deck before dinner, or cut open a delicious grapefruit for your breakfast. Enjoy our wide open spaces with ample room to explore.
Welcoming and comfortable, this studio is themed around heritage NZ domestic life. It has a zany kitchen and classy bathroom with shower. The sunny, open plan lounge/dining area has huge doors opening onto a sun-drenched deck with fields beyond and views across Seaton Valley to the sea and mountains. To keep you toasty warm in winter, there is amazing insulation and woodburner. The passive solar design, LEDs throughout, Biolytix wastewater system and other smart-eco features make for fantastic design and liveability. Fully equipped with mod cons (dishwasher, microwave, stereo, TV, DVD, hair dryer, BBQ, and wifi internet, The Paris Suite features quality furniture, as well as local and NZ art and sculpture. The chef's-delight kitchen and huge spaces make for a spaciously relaxing stay.

Things to do
At The Paris Suite there is plenty to do. Wander over our gently sloping paddocks, taking in the views of Ruby Bay and the rural quietness – our cats and sheep will probably tag along. The Paris Suite is also perfectly positioned at the art, vineyard and café hub of the region. Jellyfish Restaurant and The Appleshed Cafe are a salivating 3 minutes away in the seaside village of Mapua. Hire our bikes (standard and electric) for the Great Taste Trail and catch the ferry to Rabbit Island. Mapua and Ruby Bay also offer you beaches, shopping, art studios and galleries, horse riding, golf, and numerous other activities. Five vineyards are just up the road and several more nearby. Hoglunds Glass Art is 10 minutes and World of Wearable Arts is 25 minutes. Most of the Nelson potteries are within 20 minutes. The magnificent Rabbit Island beach is 10 minutes away, as is the Kina Golf Course, and Kaiteriteri beach is 30 minutes. Great rivers for swimming are within 10-20 minutes. Copper Gate is central for exploration and adventure. Three national parks are within an hour for climbing, tramping, skiing, rafting and kayaking.
