The Lodge is peaceful, secluded and fully self contained. Sleeping upto 6 people in comfort, set in subtropical gardens and surrounded by mature native forest. Bush walks, bird son and welcoming hosts await you. An additional two people can be accommodated by booking Bush Cottage also at the Exchange Country Accommodation.
You will be centrally placed to visit all of Northlands attractions.

The Lodge

The Lodge – sleeps up to six in a queen size bed, double bed/bunk combo and two single beds.

The first cottage you see as you enter The Exchange, this unusual cottage has been upgraded and newly refurbished to our highest standard to provide everything you need to enjoy your holiday with family or friends.

As you enter The Lodge

Inside the cottage you will find a large light and spacious living room with a new kitchen and dining area. Upstairs is an unusual mezzanine floor which comprises two of the three single sleeping areas, made cosy by the low ceilings and large Kauri beams.

The Master Bedroom

Leading off the main room into the hall way, you will find a large bedroom with a stained glass door, beautifully presented with a French style queen size bed with large double doors leading out onto the rear deck overlooking the garden with stunning views down the valley and across to the Wiama Ranges.

Second Bedroom and Bathroom

Leading off the hall way is the bathroom and a separate bedroom with the double bed bunk combo and double doors leading out onto the front deck. The bathroom is beautifully fitted with a shower and eco friendly composting toilet, and wash basin.

Surrounding the Lodge

Outside the cottage is surrounded by beautiful lawns and trees, including a large mature Tulip tree, Australian Gum nut tree, Gingko tree, Tea trees, Apple trees and Tree ferns. All of which can be viewed from the large back deck which leads off the main room. This deck faces south east which allows the morning sun to provide the perfect back drop to your alfresco breakfast.

Places to visit and things to see and do

Kohukohu Village
The historic walk takes you on a journey back through time. As you follow the map contained in the historic walk brochure, you will find carefully placed wonderful black and white pictures of how Kohukohu looked in the early days of the settlement.

Local Art Gallery

Village Arts will undoubtedly provide you with an opportunity to view a fantastic collection of local art work and photography. Everything collection is different, so be prepared to be amazed at what you find there. The Louisa Geddes Gallery will excite your artistic senses with her exquisite art work and hospitality. The harbour views are to die for, your host superb and with Holly the dog to welcome you too, you are assured of a wonderful experience.
