Sooke is a great little sea side town!
The surrounding area of newer homes has some nice walking trails, parks, and lots of green space. You can walk down to the boardwalk and watch the fishing and crabbing or try it yourself! Charter a fishing boat, or go whale watching! There is good transit into Victoria if desired, or the drive will take you approximately 45 minutes.
The town core of Sooke has nice little shops, grocery stores, pharmacies, hardware store, coffee shops, recreation center, fitness clubs, post office, etc. Sooke is the home of a world-wide recognized restaurant "The Sooke Harbour House". Sooke has a variety of other great restaurants as well as the usual fast food places.
Sooke is located on the south western tip of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada and is a scenic drive from BC's capital city Victoria. The Sooke district has one of the mildest climates in Canada. Surrounded by beaches and forests makes this a destination for many who love the outdoors. Sooke Potholes, China Beach, Jordan River, Botanical Beach to name a few, provide incredible beauty for site see-ers.
