Rive Gauche - Taupo - studio accommodation
Rive Gauche is a lodge offering studio and Bed and Breakfast accommodation in the Riverview studio and B&B in 2 other rooms. Located on the lower level of our modern home, the studio has lovely views over our own vineyard and the Wairakei tourist park. We are close to Huka Falls and only 2km from Taupo town centre. The studio has capacity for 2 adults in a king double bed.
Facilities include fridge, microwave, dining table, barbecue and outdoor furniture. The perfect retreat for getting away from it all, or a usefull base for exploring the wider area.

Other attractions
Taupo is the base for many adventure activities: sky diving, bungy jumping, kayaking, river rafting, fishing, sailing, hiking, cycling etc. We are approx one hour away from the world renown Tongariro Crossing. Rotorua is also 1 hour away, but the main thermal attractions lie between Taupo and Rotorua and are easily visited from here. Taupo is a also a good base for day trips to Napier and Waitomo. Not to mention the great Lake and forests of the Taupo region which offer their own attractions.

Events
Taupo is known as the events capital of the North Island as it hosts a number of national and international events each year. The Lake Taupo Cycle challenge sees over 10,000 cyclists take part in a race around the lake in November, and the International Ironman takes place every March. Taupo has a bi-annual Arts Festival and a thriving community of artists.
