After 35 years of intensive farming we have taken early retirement and downsized our farming operation to enable us to share this beautiful location with travellers to the Nelson region. The farm still has 400 lambing ewes and a small herd of cattle. Thus enabling you, your friends or children to experience New Zealand farm life in a safe environment. Fishing in the Wangapeka river for brown trout or hiking in nearby Kahurangi National Park add to your enjoyment. Perhaps you would prefer to enjoy the beautiful Abel Tasman the beaches, wineries and cafes of which Nelson is justly proud. Returning to your peaceful cottage at night after a relaxing guided tour.

Farm stay

Enjoy experiencing the rhythm of a working New Zealand Sheep and Beef farm. Working dogs, movement of stock animal husbandry, shearing etc. Children can run and play in safety, ride bikes light a camp fire and cook sausages on a stick. Life as it used to be, serenity and peacefulness or an adventurous experience with nearby tramping, kyaking mountain biking.

Matariki Cottage

A beautiful two storey home with a mezzanine floor. Children love to sleep upstairs where they feel they are in their own special bedroom but can still hear and see Mum and Dad in the lounge below. Perfect for family, romantic for two this was a home created with love and many family memories. Serenity and peacefulness surround you.

Open plan living, with the front door opening into the garden which then opens out to the old orchard. Children are within sight as they play. The downstairs bedroom affords privacy and the fully functional kitchen and laundry will make your holiday so easy and relaxing.

Guided trips

Guided trips to the Kahurangi National Park for a short walk or longer tramp. Maybe you would like to be escorted around the Nelson region visiting some of the tourist 'must do's'.
