Q: How far away is the beach?
A: Kaiteriteri and Marahau beaches are roughly 15km away. Stephen's Bay is about 10km away.

Q: Is linen provided?
A: Yes, all linen is provided. You might like to bring your own beach towels.

Q: Can we bring our dog?
A: Well behaved dogs are welcome with responsible owners. We do have a lot of free range hens and other fowl on the property which don't like to be chased, or caught!!

The Cottage
Orchard View Cottage overlooks the property with panoramic views across the valley. Two bedrooms sleep four people. The main bedroom has a queen size bed whilst the second bedroom has two single bunk beds. A sofa bed in the living area sleeps an extra guest or provides an alternative to the bunk beds. The kitchen is fully equipped with crockery, utensils, pots and pans, a large fridge/freezer, stove, microwave, toaster etc. In the living/dining area you will find satellite TV and DVD/CD player. The large sunny deck is furnished with tables, chairs and gas BBQ for outdoor living and is a perfect spot to sit and relax.

Things to do
Orchard View Cottage is nestled amidst 25 acres of private land including pasture, native bush and riverside with pine forest to the rear. You will find small farm animals at the property - horses, llamas, ducks, chickens, turkeys and peacocks plus domestic cats and dogs. Great for the children who are welcome to help with the animals.
Trout fisherman will be happy with the proximity of the river, just two minutes from the cottage or the larger Motueka river is about 10 minutes away.
The 'deck' provides a perfect spot to relax and listen to the abundance of native birdsong or to watch the antics of the wood pigeons in spring.

Nearby attractions
These include the beaches of Kaiteriteri and Marahau and the smaller Stephen's Bay all between 10 and 15 minutes away. The beautiful Abel Tasman National Park can be reached via Marahau on foot or by water taxi - a definite 'must do' experience just 12 minutes away.
At the end of the road is the Riwaka Resurgence, the Crystal Pool and caves.
Take a day trip 'over the hill' to Takaka, call in to the Ngarua Caves or head out to Farewell Spit.
Nelson is a 50 minute drive away and has a very popular Saturday market.
Motueka has its own market day on Sunday.
