Historic Hotel. Excellent Food. Good Old Fashioned Hospitality.
This Historic Hotel was Omakau's original homestead built in 1898. It is being lovingly restored by it's current owners. Located on the Otago Central Rail Trail, we have a variety of rooms to suit individual's needs. Breakfast, Lunch and Dinner are available daily. We pride ourselves on our hospitality and service and would welcome the opportunity to meet you.

Accommodation - Room 9

• A Queen room with a Queen and a single bed, with ensuite, for $119 for two people. ($35 extra for a third person)

Accommodation - Rooms 3 and 4

• Two twin rooms with their own ensuite (smaller rooms with two single beds) for $95 for two people. These two rooms do not have windows due to the historic construction of the hotel, but are bright with skylights and have fans for air circulation

Accommodation - Room 6

• Another twin room (which has windows) with a larger ensuite which is $105 for two people

• A Queen Room with Queen bed only, shared facilities, $90 for two people

Accommodation - Room 7

• A twin room (2 single beds), shared facilities, $90 for two people. Bathrobes provided

Accommodation - Room 5

• A single room with Single bed only – shared facilities $55. Has vanity unit and bathrobe provided

• A smaller single room with Single bed only – shared facilities $45. Bathrobe provided

Accommodation - Room 11

• A hotel room with four single beds, all made up with linen, shared facilities, for $45 per person (minimum of 2 people required). Bathrobes provided

Accommodation - Two Bedroom Cabin

• Also available is our two bedroom cabin with a Queen bed in one room and two single beds in the second room. The cabin has it’s own lounge, LCD TV, bathroom & basic kitchenette (no cooking facilities). $139 for two persons, $35 for extra person(s

Accommodation - Bunkroom

• A bunkroom – new upmarket bunks with proper wooden bed slats & bed mattresses - (2 bunks which sleeps four) with an adjacent ensuite (outside of the bunkroom) which is $35 per person with linen and towels supplied. The bunkroom is a small cosy room located beside the Cabin and is for people travelling together (i.e. you will not have strangers in the same room with you).

Restaurant

We have a lovely restaurant on site. Breakfast is available daily in the Pomona Room, which used to be the original formal dining room of the homestead

Conferences and Functions

We have the original stables of the homestead located behind the hotel. This lovely schist building has an ambience of it's own and is perfect for a special event.
