I was highly satisfied with the accommodation, it was just beautiful. Had everything we needed for our holiday. Cant wait for my next holiday to raro, this time will bring my husband and kids and will definitely book this villa again. Thank you so much Mike and tangata for the lovely hospitality you showed us. And of course to our furry friends nip, dust and Jack's, will miss our little walks on the beach and relaxing out by the pool.

The pictures on the website do not do the villa justice. The house was really lovely and well equiped and the pool was beautiful and lit up at night. The garden was beautiful also. Mike was so friendly and welcoming and easy to talk to The villa is very private and quiet. Thank you for a lovely holiday and I am sure that when we come back to Rarotonga we will definitely come to Matavera Villa.

Mike and Tangi's property is lovely. It has a beautiful pool and plenty of space. We dealt with Mike and nothing was too much trouble. Would definitely stay there again.

Kia ora Ana. We loved the location. 100 metres to beach access and exclusive use of pool.
Ideal for family or group of friends. Hosts were excellent and lived onsite but were away working most of the time.Thanks Mike and Tangata.

The place was fantastic but you need to be aware that owner also lives on the property as well. The place suited our needs but It did stipulate on the site that the house had Aircon but no remotes were found to use. The fans in the rooms did not generate enough air flow at night but we should've asked about that. The value for money was great.

Great place to stay if your looking for a getaway but don't want to spend it in a resort filled with other people private and secluded and very secure. Owners were great, helpful and friendly. A++ recommend for any type of travellers

Really enjoyed staying at the villa thanks and we would definitely hire again, sharing between two families worked well. The villa was really clean and tidy and had everything we needed. We loved dusty the dog popping in to say hi! Although worth keeping shoes etc inside if you go out - we recovered a couple of socks, handles and running shoes on the lawn that had been left on the deck but didn't find the frisbee ... But absolutely can't fault our stay, we loved it. We were glad no-one was renting the cottage at the same time, as the villa and pool are lovely and private, it would have been a bit different if someone else was there. But as villa says exclusive pool use I guess they are not rented independently anyway. Would be great to rent both if you had a larger group. Thanks again, can't wait to come back!

Matavera Poolside Villa was an awesome place to stay. Great location, excellent facilities and stunning pool.
Fantastic hosts - there was milk, bread, eggs and other supplies awaiting us on arrival which made us feel very welcome.
We would highly recommend this property and would definitely stay again on any future trips to Rarotonga.

We all had a great stay at Matavera poolside villa. Loved the open flow of the house out to the pool, which was a great addition particularly as the beach was not that suitable for swimming. The property was very well maintained and it had a great walk out to the beach with amazing views of the sunrise in the mornings. Would recommend this property to anyone with a big group as it was great for entertaining. Mike and Tangata were very friendly and helpful during our stay, which was very much appreciated!

Beautiful home, wonderful location and perfect place to stay on the island. Our one bug bear was that we were not entirely briefed about the terms of staying at the house on arrival, although sticking to the terms and conditions which state only the paying guest may stay in the property we were not aware that this extended to visiting the property/using the pool also, having separate members of our group staying at separate locations on the island naturally they wanted to come and have a look at the property and spend time with us at our accommodation just as we spent time with them at theirs. However this was not received well by Mike and Tangi-granted we are young and up at late hours of the night but that's what you do when your on holiday. More of a quite family accommodation stay then for the younger ones i think =) but other then that everything was perfect! Thanks for putting up with us for the entire stay.

Firstly, we love to travel too hence the reason we had to put up with you, your friends and mates the first night you checked in (we understand you're young and for some of you this probably is your first time here) but things slowly got out of hand which wasn't acceptable. From our point of view you obviously chosed the Property because of the Pool and of course very suitable for the private party goers (this kind of behavior's usually not tolerated if accommodated at hotels and resorts).
Things would have been okay if it wasn't for the incident at 3am early Sat morning. We had to tell 3 x men to leave the Property as they didn't belong there but this wasn't received well by Sarah who insisted they were only there for a swim, even if it were true - it was still not acceptable.
We do accept that having a Holiday Home means accepting the different kinds of attitudes and behavior of Guests but there are certain matters that will not be tolerated.

The property owners were very friendly & not intrusive in allowing us privacy at our accomodation. They were supportive & helpful in ensuring that we were settled into the property, it's surroundings. This included driving us initailly for some food provisions & the next day to the scooter rental company.
We would recommend their property to family & friends, it's a great option from staying at a resort andthey are perfect hosts

Mike and Tangata have a beautiful private location that was best suited for our needs. We were a family of four that enjoyed the pool, accommodation and surroundings for 8 days. We were greeted very early in the morning upon our arrival and they had kindly put some supplies in the refrigerator for the next day. Very much appreciated. Other than that we were left in peace. Ideal for families and or maybe three couples. Great kitchen and BBQ facilities and nice and clean. Thanks Graham Sandi Harriet & Callum.

The property is lovely and we had a wonderful time. The owner Mr Mike Allen could not do enough for us. We had a great time together and will most certainly be returning. The home has everything you need and so lovely to have the peace and quiet for a relaxing holiday. The pool area is the best and we spent most of our time just relaxing and swimming. Great!!
On our arrival we found the basics of bread, butter, milk, eggs,fresh fruit etc available to us which was great as we did not have to go shopping . Most considerate and much appreciated.

Our stay was fantastic. The house is roomy and comfortable and has everything you need. Especially the great blender for smoothies and cocktails! The pool area is beautifully landscaped and secluded. Lying and eating out there was very relaxing. The owners were very welcoming and helpful.
One week wasn't long enough! I'd definitely stay there again and will be recommending this place to everyone.

We loved the property and will definately use it again. A few things didn't work but in the big picture of the holiday they really didn't matter. The pool and house are just great and would and have recommend this house to anyone.
We would go back tomorrow if we could and this has made us say that the resorts won't be seeing us again.

Excellent owners who live on neighbouring property. Took us for an orientation of the island and also stocked the fridge with initial essentials for us. House lovely and private, quiet, yet only 15 mminutes from town, Much better than a resort. Swimming pool even has its own waterfall. Beach not sutiable for swimming. I would definely stay there again.

What an absolutely fabulous home. We were made so welcome when we arrived and the property truly exceeded our expectations. The pool is amazing and attention was paid to every detail. The inclusion of a mid week cleaner was unexpected and greatfully appreciated. I cannot rave about the place enough. Both Mike and his wife were wonderful hosts and has a wealth of knowledge of the island and attractions we should visit. Even though we hired scooters, having the bus stop right outside our door made travelling at night very easy. I would recommend this property to anyone wanting to relax in comfort and style. A real home away from home, we will definately come back!
