Karla Homestay - Reviewed by Kirsty from New Zealand in April 2012. Just wanted to say a big thank you to Karen and Mark for there fantastic hospitality. The place was perfect for my bridesmaids and I to prepare ourselves for the big day!!! The weather was perfect for sitting out and enjoying a few wines to settle the nerves. Fantastic people and lovely place to stay, so quiet and clean and peaceful, would stay back there in a heartbeat. Thank you so much again!!!! Will email you photos of the day Rating: 5.0
Owners response to this comment: It was a pleasure to have Kirsty and her bridesmaids here for her big day.
We were honoured to be a small part of it.

Karapiro World Rowing Championships
Our home is situated just 20 minutes country drive from Lake Karapiro, the venue for the 2010 World Rowing Championships. For this event we could cater for 6 people in our home and we have the possibility of catering for a larger group (total of up to 14) with the extras in a nearby neighbouring home
|
Rugby World Cup
We think our home location, central in the upper North Island, will be attractive to people or groups who are wanting to follow countries at several of the venues. Combined with the attraction of the Rugby World Cup, there are many popular tourist locations within easy driving distance to fill in the gaps between games. For this event we could cater for 6 people in our home and we have the possibility of catering for a larger group (total of up to 14) with the extras in a nearby neighbouring home

Shopping
Locally we have some good shopping.
Tirau has a very different sort of shopping experience catering for a very boutique market from clothing, antiques, to cheese and wine.
Hamilton, Tauranga, Taupo and Rotorua are all popular tourist shopping destinations.
|
Cheese
Locally we have Kaimaia Cheese, where you can go to see cheese being made, sample and purchase the various delights on offer.
They do all this in a cafe environment which we can highly reccommend.
