The cottage

In setting up Garden Cottage we decided to create the type of place we would like to stay. So it's very warm in winter, cool in summer, set within a glorious garden, is peaceful and incredibly comfortable. The bed is warm and comfortable, the kitchen fully set up for meal makers, the dining table arranged to take in the garden view and the bathroom/ensuite is both clean and private.

The garden

Our home is set within an organically certified chestnut orchard and the garden also reflects our approach to gardening. An established woodland garden, this spot is considered a cool climate location. I collect rare and interesting trees and so the garden holds many plants of interest. We also have an extensive vegetable garden and home orchards. Gardening is part of who we are!
