Some things broken - eg blinds in bedroom which was irritating rather than a big problem. Would have been nice to have more info about how things work in the house and also more local info would have been good.
However, a beautiful place which lived up to our expectations.

Perfectly appointed luxury accommodation
From the contemporary New Zealand art collection to the state of the art gourmet kitchen, this expansive split level property will exceed all of your expectations. We have left no stone unturned in providing five-star facilities and equipment, creating a luxurious and private environment in which for you to unwind and relax in style.
The properties four bedrooms are spread over its three levels. The master bedroom, a super-king double with spa bath, ensuite and private balcony is located on the upper level. A queen and a twin-single room (sharing a bathroom and toilet) are located on the mezzanine level, and a super-king double bedroom with ensuite and private courtyard is located on the lower level.
All rooms are climate controlled and fitted with plasma screen TV's. Extra fold out beds are available for the games room if required and all doubles split into twin singles.
The retreat's gourmet kitchen is fitted with the latest in European fittings and appliances and is complimented by two outdoor barbeques and a wood-fired oven/grill. The interior dining area provides seating for up to twelve, with easy flow onto extensive outdoor dining areas.
The formal lounge provides expansive views over the bay and features an open fire and seating for ten. A plasma screen TV, Bose lifestyle system, Sky TV receiver and media library provides entertainment to suit all tastes. Further entertainment can be found downstairs in the games room if you fancy a game of pool or a board game.

First-class facilities and entertainment
The waterfront area boasts a fully equipped day house, with ensuite, plasma screen TV and outdoor sound system. The expansive decks, outdoor hot tub, BBQ, and dining area provide the ideal venue for days of rest, relaxation and fun.
The properties west-facing grounds maximise sunlight hours and the sheltered bay is perfect for water sports. The fixed and floating jetties are able to accommodate vessels of up to 60 feet allowing fishing trips, sailing charters and launch tours to be carried out direct from the retreat. Or if you would like to take in an aerial view of this breathtaking piece of New Zealand, why not take a scenic helicopter flight direct from our private helipad.
Onsite facilities include an air rifle, pistol and archery shooting range and four kayaks.

Just 10 minutes by boat from Picton, Double Cove Retreat is the ideal base from which to enjoy the vast range of recreational activities that the Marlborough region has to offer.
However, if rest and relaxation is what you desire, the properties architectural elegance and natural bush surrounded grounds provide the perfect setting, the choice is yours!
By Helicopter: The retreat has its own private helipad and is 25 minutes direct from Helipro's Heliport in central Wellington.
By Plane: Fly into Picton Airport from Wellington with Sounds Air, or into Blenheim Airport with Air New Zealand. Direct transfers from either Picton or Blenheim Airport's to Double Cove Retreat (25 minutes) can be arranged.
By Ferry: The Interislander and Bluebridge have several sailings daily from Wellington to Picton. Travelling time is 3 hours and direct transfers from the Picton ferry terminal to Double Cove Retreat can be arranged.
