We are situated one block from the highway (carretera) and the bus stop in the quiet residential area of Riberas del Pilar.
Only a five minute drive east to Chapala, a lovely lakeside riviera, and about the same distance in the opposite direction to the artistic village of Ajijic, there is always something new to experience. Time always seems to slow down when the sun is warm, the days are colorful, and the scent of flowers is in the clear mountain air.

Do be sure to experience the music-- it is such an integral part of Mexico!
As you immediately will experience, our biggest plus is the mild weather. Lake Chapala boasts the best climate in the world year round! Inside a one-hour drive you can be in Guadalajara, Jalisco, an international city with Mexico's second largest population. Inexpensive tour buses run to Guadalajara and nearby fun tourist areas such as Telaquepaque, Tequila and Tonala. A five-hour bus trip will take you to Puerta Vallarta for under $50.00.
Hunt for bargains--and there are many--at the local markets, attend the Lakeside Little Theatre for a performance (in English, of course!), tour local homes and gardens, or just take a refreshing walk down Lake Chapala's lakeside walkways (malecones)... it's all so energizing!
