From Mantra Bright Point, Nelly Bay, you can drive, bus, cycle or walk if you are fit enough, to all of the points of interest on the island that have road or trail access.

How to get to Magnetic Island
The island is only 9km off Townsville and is actually under the Townsville City Council. From Townsville there is a choice of a passenger ferry or a vehicle barge service to Magnetic Harbour.
Most visitors fly to Townsville on the many flights provided by Jetstar, Virgin Blue and Qantas. There are taxis and a shuttle bus to take people from the airport to the passenger ferry terminal. However, our privileged Bright Point Deluxe guests are welcome to request a free limo pick up from the airport!
The fast, modern passenger ferry takes only twenty five minutes to reach the island and operates to the following timetable. It is usually only 10 minutes by car from Townsville airport to the ferry terminal, but, given the infrequency of the service at certain times of the day and week, we strongly recommend you arrange flights which land at least forty minutes prior to your intended ferry’s departure. Bookings are not necessary.

From the time you walk into our spacious units, your spirits will soar. Light-filled rooms lead to dreamy balconies, with sweeping, uninterrupted views over the rock-edged pool and out to the Coral Sea.
The view is still there, even when you are in the master bedroom, reclining in bliss on your king size bed.
Whether entertaining or relaxing privately, you will want for nothing. The lounge has surround sound stereo and DVD to a large-screen TV with both free-to-air and satellite reception available
A thoughtfully equipped kitchen with the best of appliances and utensils makes meal times and parties a dream.
Location - Bright Point is flanked by the Coral Sea on one side and Magnetic Harbour, where the Ferry Terminal is, on the other.

The multi award-winning "Barefoot Art Food & Wine" at Horseshoe Bay provides elegant but casual dining at its best. Within walking distance of your apartments is genuine French cuisine at "Le Paradis". Nearby to that is the rustic BYO "Man Friday" There's also "Bannisters" seafood restaurant and take-aways at nearby Arcadia. Local pubs. at Picnic Bay, Arcadia and Horseshoe Bay offer very good value lunches and dinners as well.

Meals are easy in your fully equipped kitchen, complete with Meile cook top & oven, microwave and barbecue. There's a modern supermarket just two minutes walk away and another nearby (next to the Nelly Bay liquor store!)

Your FREE loan car
Driving around the island looking at the sights is a lot of fun, especially from our VW Golf convertibles. Much of the scenery is above screen height, so going roofless is the perfect way to look around.
