Are Tupapa - Reviewed by Janalle from New Zealand in June 2019. Thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will definitely return.
The phone was unplugged on our arrival and didn't seem to charge so we could use it. This may of been us not knowing what we were doing and wasn't an issue as we had our cellphones. We have left unplugged as kept beeping at us.

Are Tupapa - Reviewed by Esther from Australia in October 2017. Family of 5 with 3 young children. The photos online didnt do justice. The place was perfect for our stay. Everything worked well except the microwave and telephone. Besides that it didnt really bother us, but we all had a great time there but only for 4 nights. Sunsets and sunrise was something I always looked forward to. The beach is right out front the beach house, there is a small snorkelling swimming area which we happily enjoyed everyday of our stay and also managed to find some fresh kina from the reefs close by. Definitely would recommend this place to family and friends. Close to local gyms, nightlife, 24hr Convenient Store (Superbrown) and Health Clinic. Rating: 4.8

Are Tupapa - Reviewed by Diana from New Zealand in January 2018. We feel there was a lack of communication between home for hire and the owner, we were left stranded at the airport on arrival, finally arrived and key was left on bench door unlocked. Home was clean and tidy however this is the first home we have hired that did not provide tea, coffee milk on arrival. We contacted the owner to get some towels as there were only four on site for a family of five. General facilities were of good standard, fridge/freezer washing machine and plenty of fresh bedding. We enjoyed our stay. Rating: 3.4

Are Tupapa - Reviewed by Nick from New Zealand in September 2017. Great property, ideal for our group of five friends from New Zealand. Walking distance into the main town and easy to catch the bus to other parts of the island. There is some snorkelling off the front of the property, however going further round the island to the likes of the Rarotongan proved have the best snorkelling. Property had all advertised amenities. We would definitely stay here again. The fishing club next door had great value drinks too! Rating: 4.8

Are Tupapa - Reviewed by Diana from U.S.A. in January 2017. Loved our stay at Are Tupapa, great location, private, you have your own personal little snorkel area. The local dogs got the memo that we missed ours so did thier best to make us feel at home. The only two incidences were the water pump stoped working for a while on our first day there, my dad and husband were able to get it running, then Paul came and did some maintainence on it and it was fine. And when the rains started coming there was a little ant infestation starting to happen, but there was some bug spray and we nipped that problem in the bud. Over all it was a great. This is where I would want to stay if I were to return to Rarotonga. Rating: 5.0

Are Tupapa - Reviewed by MATTHEW from Australia in May 2016. Beautiful location and views from the house. However the cleaning of the property was inadequate (stains on the walls hadn't been wiped and 2 bbq totally coated in grease and grime.) Microwave broke down early in our stay as did the replacement and getting assistance from the staff of Raro backpackers was tiresome. Despite these things though we loved our private beach, the proximity to town and the exceptional fish and chips at Gamefishers club Rating: 3.6

Toaster wasn't working & no hammock as per photo. Owner delivered a new toaster & hammock the next morning which was great.
If I had to be picky there were no soap bars in the bathrooms otherwise it was a great stay & wld recommend this holiday home.

Are Tupapa - Reviewed by Anna from New Zealand in December 2014. Are Tupapa was an absolute gem. It was close to town and as it worked out close to the venue where our family reunion was held. It was also close to many of our relations. The house and the amenities are top rate. The washing machine was a little temperamental at times but it was used a lot. Honestly we could not have had better accommodation at all. Located by the beach was fantastic and we were able to swim every day if we chose. The bedrooms and beds were well set out and there was no problem at all with the eight we had staying there for a lot of the time and the guests we had over a lot sometimes 12 to 15 people for dinner. Having the bathrooms set out as they are also meant two families we able to have privacy as well. The house was magic and we will be recommending using Paul and Rebecca Brown's accommodation to anyone we know heading to Raro with a group. Thank you very much we really did not want our time there to end. Thank you a million times and we would rate the house, the service and everything about it a 9.95 out of 10. Rating: 4.8

Are Tupapa - Reviewed by Hannah from New Zealand in July 2013. We had a fantastic stay at Are Tupapa and will definitely recommend to friends. The BBQ drip tray has completely rusted out so we didn't feel comfortable using it as it could have been a fire risk. Apart from that we were hugely impressed. Thank you Paul Rating: 4.8
Owners response to this comment: I have replaced BBQ with a brand new stainless steel unit.
