Q: Are there mosquitoes at Are Kapakapa?
A: Aitutaki is a tropical Island in the middle of the Pacific so yes there are mosquitos in Aitutaki. You will find that Are Kapakapa is fully screened however we recommend you bring your choice of Insect repellent for when you travel about

Q: What do you mean by saying Are Kapakapa has "occasional noise"?
A: Are Kapakapa is located approximately 1.5 kilometers from the airport and although not in the path of air traffic at certain times when the wind is blowing our way you can hear the hum of the aeroplane, also the neighbors about 150 meters away, use a machine sometimes for their business, (depending on the wind you may hear the hum of his machine). Finally Aitutaki has island roosters who crow as they wish following no schedule and working to no time piece, we do like to say its all a part of the island experience!! (Please note the crowing of these roosters does not depend on the wind and they do not make a humming sound)

Q: Do I really need transport to get around?
A: Of course you can choose to walk however we recommend that you budget for transport as Are Kapakapa is some distance from the closest shops and an extended walk in the hot tropical sun may soon prove to be an unpleasant experience.

Q: Is 4 people the maximum Are Kapakapa can cater to?
A: The 2 bedrooms cater comfortably to 2 people each therefore a maximum of 4 people, HOWEVER we have allowed up to 6 people to stay by supplying two single sofa beds and setting them up in the lounge.

Q: What is something you recommend I must do while in Aitutaki?
A: Coming to Aitutaki is a great start however definitely plan for a Lagoon Cruise with Aitutaki Adventure, Dinner and Fire Show at Tamanu Beach Island Night, Breakfast at Koru Cafe, happy hour at the Aitutaki Lagoon Spa and Resort, a la carte and live entertainment Friday nights at Rapae Bay Restaurant in Aitutaki Pacific Resort. Make time for strolls on the beach, sip wine while watching the sun go down, meet the locals at one of the regular sports events, my friend, it's all up to you!! Enjoy and Welcome!!

Our stay at Are Kapakapa was just wonderful. The home is large, clean and perfectly appointed. Vaa picked us up from the airport and was so welcoming and kind. He really made our stay special. We would definitely choose to stay in this home again. Highly recommended.

Aitutaki Information:
If this is your first trip to Aitutaki, you will find Aitutaki is definitely a premium location and you can be as busy or as relaxed as you would like. Something that is a "must do" while you are here, would be an outing with one of the local tour operators who provide a cruise and day out on the lagoon, lunch and snorkling gear is provided and there are many other activities that are also available here in Aitutaki.
Aitutaki is a small place however we recommend that you rent a vehicle for getting around the island, scooters or cars are the most widely available and we can provide contact details for the rental companies in Aitutaki.
On a Lagoon cruise you are likely to feed fish by hand, and take in the breathtaking view of the turquoise lagoon up close while snorkling. Also you can choose to go Bush Walking,take a Aitutaki Island Tour, hire a bike or a kayak and go kayaking to one of the motus (local name for islet) There are cafes and restaurants, Island nights and Fire Dance shows.
