3+ STAR Golden Bay Retreat was built in 2006-2007, on a quarter acre, in a new rural subdivision.
Located 2.5km from Takaka & beach, just off State Highway 60 (100km from Nelson)in the "Heart of the Parks" (Golden Bay is NZ's "alternative lifestyle capital").
The main, character house sleeps up to 8. It features a master bedroom, with queen size bed, opening onto a deck and garden (safely fenced for children). The other 2 bedrooms have;
Bedroom 2 - A double bed and
Bedroom 3 - A king splitter bed (ie; one king size OR two single beds). The kitchen is fully equipped and the spacious living room includes a wood fire, single bed & a single mattress (if neccessary).
Adjacent is a self-contained studio motel/chalet. Seperated by a fence, it features a private ensuite bathroom, fully equipped kitchenette, dinning table and one queen OR two single beds, opening onto a deck and garden.
Our self-contained compact caravan opens onto its own private courtyard garden. It sleeps 2 + 1 in the awning.
Wifi, bikes, satellite TV (excludes caravan).

Everything you need for a relaxing or adventurous getaway. Easy access to 2 national parks (30-60 mins). Golden sand beaches, rock climbing, kayaking, restaurants & more nearby. Have a therapeutic massage between tracks. Rent a car & visit Farewell Spit's Wharariki beach, or have me drop you off at Totaranui for a day walk around Abel Tasman's Separation Point. I can also deliver your car to the opposite end of Abel Tasman or Heaphy Tracks. I am happy to accommodate your needs. There are also plenty of easy, short walks nearby for the less active, as well as galleries, crafts & cafes. The "Heart of the Parks" is NZ's "alternative lifestyle capital", so enjoy Golden Bay's unique culture & diversity. Golden Bay is truely a unique kiwi experience like no other.
