Our rural retreat takes in 360° of outstanding landscape. By day you will revel in the ever-changing panoramic views of majestic mountains, the braided Waiou River, and the surrounding sheep, deer and cattle stations. At night you will be dazzled by stars and enchanted by the twinkling lights of Hanmer Springs. Landscaped grounds include a mature olive grove, fruit and nut orchard, and extensive exotic and native New Zealand plantings.

Relax and unwind in the peaceful solitude of the 26-acre property, or explore the many fine restaurants, shops, and outdoors activities that are located just eight minutes drive away in Hanmer Springs village.

THE RETREAT

The park-like grounds include an olive grove, small fruit and nut orchard, vegetable and flower gardens. Our philosophy is to reflect the surrounding high alpine character and beauty on our property while producing our extra virgin olive oil, fruit and vegetables in a sustainable way. The Retreat's design is contemporary, and the colour scheme and materials are natural reflecting the tones and light of the area. The style is sophisticated simplicity.

Guests have exclusive use of the large formal living room, and an expansive open-plan dining room and kitchen area which feature floor-to-ceiling windows and large decks to showcase the captivating views. Massive exposed Macrocarpa rafters line the high cathedral ceilings in both the living and dining rooms, which are linked by a double-sided stone clad fireplace.

Beautiful décor, original artwork, sumptuous furnishings, exquisite food, wine, and sparkling company come together in the spirit of warm country hospitality at Amuri Estate Retreat.

The guest rooms all have their own distinctive character, and their own unique views. Each room features original New Zealand artwork and is individually designed for comfort and sophistication.
