Alpine Vista, a stunning property with breathtaking views - Reviewed by barry from United Kingdom in March 2015. I don't think I have ever given a full score on a rating before but we were really impressed with this property. We knew in advance it was north facing & therefore lost the sun in the afternoon but the house made up for that minor shortcoming in spadefuls. As owners of a second home ourselves, we know all to well how difficult it is to get the details just right but the owners of Alpine Vista have certainly achieved that & provide a range of useful info. for Queenstown first-timers also. Alpine Vista, a stunning property with breathtaking views - Reviewed by Donita from U.S.A. in February 2013. The views are incredible. I would not recommend walking to town. We used the grill several times and appreciated that option. Would definitely stay there again. Rating: 5.0

Alpine Vista, a stunning property with breathtaking views - Reviewed by Ewa from Australia in April 2012. Loved this house - would stay again. The only comment we would make is that the TV is hung so high up and the chairs/sofa were so low without anything to lean your head on, it made it uncomfortable to watch TV. Need armchairs with head rests. Similarly outside - with such an amazing view - would be great to have some more comfortable seating that you could lounge about in. Rating: 4.8

Alpine Vista, a stunning property with breathtaking views - Reviewed by Leanne from Australia in March 2012. Loved this comfortable, well equipped home. Unsurpassed views in a quiet peaceful part of town away from the hustle and bustle of town. Enjoyed the hot tub of an evening overlooking the lights of Queenstown.
Private and comfortable my husband and I loved our time here and hated to leave. Rating: 4.9

Alpine Vista, a stunning property with breathtaking views - Reviewed by Roger from Australia in October 2011. For a family of 7, we only had 2 minor issues.
1. Although we were expecting it to be costly, it was a bit more than we would have preferred to pay.
2. The home only catered for 6 persons (but we did already know this when we made the booking).
I brought my Australian partner and her 2 kids to Queenstown along with my own 3 kids and the accommodation blew them all away. I have no hesitation in saying it added to the entire experience making our holiday one to remember. Rating: 4.6

Alpine Vista, a stunning property with breathtaking views - Reviewed by Brent from Australia in August 2011. Property manager was very helpful and the house was very comfortable. Paul (manager) was able to give us some ideas for food and showed us how everything in the house worked. He also took care of the bins, the gas and any problems we came across. The house has a spectacular view. We especially enjoyed watching a snow storm come in over the lake and dump on Queenstown. The master bedroom on the top floor and the other two bedrooms on the bottom level provided much appreciated personal space.
The steep drive way was interesting to trek up in the snow. The garage fits two small cars, and the three bathrooms are: 1 bathroom, 1 en suit and one toilet with basin and mirror.
We had a great time there and the house was warm, light and comfortable in any and all weather and company. Rating: 4.7

Queenstown Secrets
Queenstown is full of memories to treasure. Boasting a smorgasboard of sensational eateries, pubs and cafes that are world standard. You may have heard of Winnies in the Mall for a casual meal and drinks with the famous roof that opens through out the night! And for something a bit more upmarket 'Ballerat Resturant and Bar' downstairs from Winnies. Plus a couple of local secrets, The 'Bunker' in Cow Lane for sensational cocktails in a more intimate setting. For those of us more adventurous, the 'Yakatori Saki Bar' in Shotover Street for Japanese beer and Saki bombs, complete with loads of grilled varaiations of skewered delights. Not to forget, last but not least, Fergburger in Shotover street, the worlds best burgers and chips!
|
Queenstown Attractions
Some of the attractions that we suggest include the Luge at the top of the Gondola. Ice Skating at the local rink, as well as watching Ice Hockey games with local teams competing. Skiing and snowboarding. Shot Over Jet or Kawareau Jet, The aquatic center for swimming and childrens activities. There is a great little cinema 'Reading Cinema' right in the middle of the mall, showing all the latest movies.
