Over the last decade and a half Gantleys has built a reputation as one of the country’s premier restaurants with New Zealand’s most award winning wine list. Owners, Sommelier, Brent Rands, and Head Chef, Jared Aldridge, pride themselves on their international reputation for providing diners with the experience of excellent food, superlative wines and exemplary service.
Gantleys recent scoop of all categories as well as Overall Winner in the regional Montana Wine and Food Challenge reflects the passion and flair which dominates their dedication to matching wine with food. This is evident in the popular Degustation Menu which presents six courses. Each dish is carefully matched with wine to enhance the intrinsic flavours of the food and in turn balance the characteristics of the wine, and of course including one of New Zealand’s best Rack of Lamb dishes.
Renowned as New Zealand’s most Awarded Wine List, Gantleys has won an Award of Excellence from New York magazine Wine Spectator every year since 1996, and the highest award of 5 Decanters (5 stars) - one of only 12 restaurants nationwide - in the New Zealand Wine List of the Year Awards for two years running. The wine list features strong verticals of New Zealand and Australian top labels.
Located just 10 minutes, 7 kilometres from Queenstown, we are still close to the local accommodation but offer a secluded and private country setting. Dinner bookings are essential at Gantleys and complimentary transport from central Queenstown is available by arrangement.
